1. 24-Hour Free Trial on Starter
The Starter plan includes a 24-hour free trial on your first subscription. A valid payment method is required at trial signup; no charge is made during the trial. If you cancel from the Billing page in your dashboard before the trial ends, you are not charged and your runner is destroyed at the moment of cancellation. If you do not cancel, the subscription auto-renews at the standard Starter price after 24 hours and ordinary cancellation rules (Section 2) apply from that point on.
Other plans (Standard, Pro, Heavy, Beast) do not include a free trial. They are billed in full from the first day of subscription.
2. Standard Cancellation
Runsetters subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. When you cancel a subscription from the Billing page in your dashboard, cancellation takes effect immediately: your subscription is closed and the underlying Hetzner machine is destroyed without delay. No partial refund is issued for unused days within the current billing period. This reflects the nature of the Service: each runner reserves a dedicated machine for the entire month, and our cost to the underlying provider is incurred regardless of how much you use it.
3. Plan Changes
- Upgrade during a free trial: the trial ends immediately and the full amount of the new plan is billed on the same day.
- Upgrade outside of trial: the prorated difference for the remainder of the period is added to your next renewal invoice. No immediate charge.
- Downgrade to a smaller plan: processed manually. Email hello@runsetters.com to request a downgrade.
4. Refunds
Outside of the 24-hour Starter free trial, we do not issue refunds, including for unused days within the current billing period, change of mind, or termination of an account. The free trial exists so you can evaluate the Service at no cost before you are charged; once a paid period begins, the period is non-refundable.
Limited exceptions, at our sole discretion, may be granted only where Runsetters is materially at fault — for example, if our platform fails to provision your runner during the first paid period and our support team cannot resolve the failure. To request such a discretionary refund, email hello@runsetters.com with your account email, Paddle order or transaction ID, and a description of the issue. We respond within 2 business days.
5. Non-Refundable Cases
Refunds will not be issued in the following cases:
- Cancellation of a paid subscription mid-period — pro-rated refunds for unused days are never issued.
- Renewal payments after the 24-hour trial — these are subject to the standard cancellation rule above.
- Suspension or termination resulting from violation of our Acceptable Use rules (mining, port scanning, DDoS, spam, etc.) or violation of Hetzner's Acceptable Use Policy.
- Runtime lost to enforcement action by Hetzner as our subprocessor (see Terms of Service, Section 6).
- Outages or downtime caused by upstream providers (Hetzner Cloud, GitLab, internet routing) outside our reasonable control.
6. EU/UK Consumer Rights
Where you are a consumer in the EU/UK, this policy does not affect your statutory rights. Note that EU consumer law allows digital services to be exempted from the standard 14-day right of withdrawal once performance has begun with your express consent — by provisioning a runner, you give that consent. The 24-hour Starter free trial is offered as a way to evaluate the Service before any payment is taken.
